Elephant! Tea cup coming soon!!!

Woah! Sorry it's been a while delightful people. Between moving and my new job it's been a crazy October. But I'm back in the studio and pleased as punch. The elephant is coming right along (although it might not look it) and I should have nicer pictures soon!

Who wouldn't want to have a cup of tea with an elephant? I know I would!

First layer of trees is done! on to deer! And to wolves.

Making trees! They may just be the first layer, but these brave little guys are what make the whole piece possible. I love my first-layer-barely-seen trees!

So today I am doing the first round of photographs for the Hansel and Gretel illustration. I say first because I almost always end up shooting once during the day (with a lamp and the lovely grey Portland light) and another at night (with several lamps and more control). Don't be concerned by the surrounding chaos, it disappears after the first crop.

Hansel is here! Well, at least his sketch is. I actually have another one of him with a better fitting hat, but this one was more fun to color.  Can't wait to start building him!

I thought I had settled on traditional garb for my little lost siblings, but now I am beginning to think I might prefer more modern clothing. If I do that, I think I will add a ski lift. Hmmmmm. . .

And now we have a tree. Just starting to leave the board and get some depth. Let's hear it for stage 4!

New postcards have arrived! Now I just need some more stamps.
